City Park Renovation :: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

CLIENT:
Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC) :: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The redesign of Baton Rouge’s historic City Park sought to preserve the intent of original 1920’s plan for a haven of recreation for residents of all ages while updating the facilities to meet the current needs of Louisiana’s capital city. Creation of multi-use features and improvement of the park’s connections to neighboring communities resulted in a facility that brings residents together for jogging, walking, cycling, golfing and tennis. With its historical signification, the park will continue to serve as a living history lesson for future generations

City Park was awarded the Best of 2008 Renovation/Restoration Project by South Central Construction magazine. This year’s program focused on solutions to difficult challenges, project management, construction innovation, client service and safety.

”Lincoln Builders was more than just our contractor for the City-Brooks Park project. They were part of BREC’s creative team to build a premier public park for the citizens of Baton Rouge. Their commitment to quality craftsmanship is greatly appreciated.” Bill Palmer, BREC Superintendent
